Stonecroft has the oldest Zinfandel vines in New Zealand. The vines were planted in 1993 and originated from Ravenswood in California. Hawke’s Bay is a relatively cool climate, so our Zinfandel is a medium bodied wine. We have just six rows of Zinfandel at our Roy’s Hill Vineyard.

Wine

Colour: A medium ruby red colour.
Aromatics: Raspberry, redcurrant and cranberry.
Palate: Our Zinfandel is a medium bodied red with a fruity bouquet and flavours of raspberry, redcurrant and cranberry, together with sweet vanilla on the finish. The fruit is handpicked from just 6 rows in our Roy’s Hill Vineyard. Matured for 16 months in seasoned American oak barrels. Suitable for vegans.

Vineyard: Roy’s Hill.
Variety: Zinfandel.
Harvest: Hand harvested.
Vinification: Fermented in open-top stainless steel fermenters. Hand plunged two times daily. Post fermentation soak for two to three weeks followed by maturation in barrel.
Maturation: Matured in seasoned American oak barrels for 16 months.
Bottled: 9th October 2019
Analysis: Alc 12% vol.
Closure: Diam
Cellaring Potential: 3-5 years.
