This Syrah is a selection of fruit from our vineyards in the Gimblett Gravels. With this wine we are aiming for a fruit driven wine which is approachable soon after bottling.
Colour: Deep, ruby red colour.
Aromatics: A subtle bouquet with black fruit, oak and a savoury note.
Palate: This wine is medium bodied, with rich fruit flavours including black berry and dark cherries, a smooth mouthfeel and soft tannins
Region: Gimblett Gravels Wine Growing District®, Hawke’s Bay.
Vineyard: Mere Road and Roy’s Hill.
Variety: Syrah (Clones – Stonecroft and 470)
Harvest: Hand harvested 7th April 2020
Vinification: Ferrmented in open-top stainless steel fermenters followed by maturation in seasoned oak for 17 months.
Bottled: 15th October 2021.
Analysis: Alc 12.5% vol.
Fining: Fined with egg.
Production: 700 cases.
Cellaring Potential: Up to 5 years.
